I am looking for difference between MS Automation Library and Coded UI Test. How to select one for WPF UI Automation development.
I have complex WPF application which needs to be automated. I am confused on these two choices.

I dont see any major difference between them except Coded UI provides CUIT for recording. I dont want to use recording for my project. Since my WPF application is having lot of custom controls, I will write back-end C# code for control identification.

I found that MS Automation Library is being used for developing Coded UI Test framework.

Thanks in Advance.

Coded UI Test is positioned and developed keeping UI Testing in mind. So if your requirement is UI automation, Coded UI is the way to go.

It does have great support for WPF. You should be able to get Custom controls automated as well.

This forum is about CUITe (a wrapper framework over Coded UI Test), which at this point doesn't support WPF.
