CUITe Not Running in Vs2012

description

Hi All

I currently have CUITe running in Vs2012, and recorded all the actions set up a test but the test will not run, i have started a separate thread as it appeared to be a different issue than that which is already listed.

my questions are you fixing for VS2012 and if so how long?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thank you for creating this issue.

For reference, see the discussions here: http://cuite.codeplex.com/discussions/400880

Hi icnocop

That discussion link says
"You have to add a reference to Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.Silverlight in your Coded UI Test Project. This assembly can be found in %Program Files%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTT\11.0\UITestExtensionPackages".

So basically you have to replace "Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITesting.SilverlightControls" with "Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.Silverlight".

BUT the issue we are seeing is with CUITe build reference still pointing to 10.0 references. See error: "Error details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITesting, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Can you please help with this?

Hi sripat,

CUITe does not yet support Visual Studio 2012; that's the reason for this work item - it is still open and not active, fixed, or closed.

You can try to implement this yourself by downloading the latest source code and updating the references, etc., but I have not tried to do this myself.

If you get stuck with a compiler error, please let us know.

A patch to the source code is welcome.

Thank you.

Associated with changeset 23703.

I checked in support for Visual Studio 2012 \ .net 4.5.

The latest source code has a readme.txt with the development environment system requirements and instructions on how to build.

You can basically run build.cmd and it will produce two zip files:
CUITe for .NET v4.zip
CUITe for .NET v4.5.zip

Please let me know if you run into any issues.

Thank you.

Resolved with changeset 23768: updated to version 1.6 and using CommonAssemblyInfo.cs
fixed reference to Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.Silverlight
