Hi centennial_C4,

The CUITe ObjectRecorder does not support recording desktop applications.

I recommend using the built-in Visual Studio Coded UI Test Recorder and then convert the generated code for use with CUITe.

You can see some sample code that the Visual Studio Coded UI Test Recorder generates and how it can be converted into less code using CUITe in questions 1 and 2 of the FAQ.

Thanks for directing to the source code. I am keen on WPF application which I guess latest version of CUITe supports. But as Greg asked I didnt find any tutorial/ video to explain how to record the WPF application with CUITe.

Could yo u please help ?

I use VS 2012 CUITe anyone can help me with this problems.

When I'm using IE9 there's no error but when I'm using Chrome and Firefox i always meet this problem.

Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.UITestControlNotFoundException:Unable to fine the top level element of the control.

Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.TechnologyNotSupportedException:The browser Firefox is currently not supported.

The Built-in Coded UI recorder looks like not friendly, and i want to write my hand code with CUITe coded ui.

The exception I posted was the message thrown when using the CUITe_HtmlListItem.

CUITe_HtmlDiv div = Get<CUITe_HtmlDiv>("class=chzn-drop");
CUITe_HtmlListItem theListItem = div.Get<CUITe_HtmlListItem>("TagName=li");

The same code works fine in Visual Studio 2010, but in 2012 it can not resolve the control...

Similar to the latest post in discussion:443509, I too am still getting an exception with Commit 26882.

Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Extension.UITestControlNotFoundException:
The playback failed to find the control with the given search properties. Additional Details:
TechnologyName: 'Web'
ControlType: 'Custom'
InnerText: 'AutoTest'
TagName: 'li'

Failed to find any control that matched the search condition ControlType='Custom' && InnerText='AutoTest' ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.
