Disabled Options in a Dropwdown

So I have the following piece of code.

<select name="acctActions20714" class="PaymentAccountActionDropdown" id="acctActions20714" onchange="Navigate($('#acctActions20714').val() ,20714, 1, 'Visa', '', '2220', 'Non-Recurring')">
<option value="">Available Actions...</option>
<option disabled="disabled" value="MakePayment">Make Payment</option>
<option value="ViewPaymentAcct">View Account Detail</option>
<option value="ActivatePaymentAcct">Activate Account</option>
</select>

I am running a test that requires selecting an option from the dropdown and the majority of the time it works fine but when I attempt to select the value with the disabled tag I get sent to a 404 page. The test doesn't require that the dropdown options get navigated to through mouse presses so I am doing something along the lines of
CUITe_HtmlComboBox myCombo = myParent.Get<CUITe_HtmlComboBox>  (idValue);
        myCombo.SelectItem(ddItem);
Is there anyway to check if an option is disabled before attempting to select it?

Thanks,

Does the Visual Studio Coded UI Test Recorder show any properties that indicate the item is disabled?
