I want to test my application on both the versions of visual studio, (i.e visual studio 2008 and visual studio2010) requirements are as follows:

1. I have use Coded UI Test with the visual studio 2010 for automation but Coded UI Test is not available for visual studio 2008, so can i use CUITe with the visual studio 2008.

2.  Is there any automation tool is available which supports visual studio 2010 and 2008.

3. Can we use CUITe framework for visual studio 2010 and 2008.

Coded UI Tests cannot be created in Visual Studio 2008.

CUITe targets .net 4.

Visual Studio 2008 projects cannot target .net 4.

Trying to reference CUITe.dll from a Visual Studio 2008 project will not resolve as indicated in a compilation warning similar to the following:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets : warning MSB3246: Resolved file has a bad image, no metadata, or is otherwise inaccessible. Could not load file or assembly 'C:\codeplex\cuite\CUITe\bin\Release\CUITe.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

Why do you need to use CUITe in Visual Studio 2008?

Visual Studio 2010 and CUITe can be used to test virtually any application.

In other words, the application under test does not need to have been built with Visual Studio 2010.

Other automation frameworks may be used in Visual Studio 2008, but in the past, I could not find a mature enough open source project that has support for web, desktop, and Silverlight applications like Coded UI Tests do.

Thank you.
